A new parking brake switch is available. The new parking brake switch includes sealed contacts. The new parking brake switch is available in both Push-to-Engage application and Pull-to-Engage application. The new parking brake switch is adaptable to early Series II S/N:AD/AE40-129 and Up

- Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
- Remove cover (2) .

- Disconnect the cables from parking brake switch (1) .
- Remove former parking brake switch (1). Discard former parking brake switch (1) .
- Cut all eyelets (3) from the parking brake switch cables. Discard the loops cut from the EL354 cable.

- Using a 1U-5804 Crimp Tool install four 186-3735 Connector Pins to the four cables.

- Install 102-8805 Receptacle Kit (5). Refer to Table 3 for the correct wiring code.

- Drill two 8 mm (0.31 inch) through the side console in the position shown in Illustration 4.

- Install 1DE3452 Control Unit (7) using two 7X-2501 Bolts, two 8T-4205 Hard Washers and two 6V-8185 Nuts. Install two 1DE3430 Caps over the heads of the two bolts.
- Install new 1DE3268 Switch Gp (10) to the dash panel.

- Connect 1DE3451 Harness As (8). Refer to Table 4.

- Install the cover removed in Step 2.
- Test the operation of the parking brake.
- Install 1DE3437 Harness As (13) .

- Install 1DE3426 Decal (14) .
- Test the operation of the parking brake.
