R1300 (S/N: 6QW)

When the above listed machines require a UHF radio to be installed, the recommended UHF radio mounting position for each machine is shown in the following article.

There are many different UHF radios available. The mounting bracket for the UHF radio will vary according to each manufacturer. The installer has to manufacture the mounting bracket to suit the UHF radio being installed. This article shows the recommended UHF radio mounting positions for Load Haul Dump and Underground Articulated Trucks.

UHF Radio Mounting Position for the R1300 Load Haul Dump

(1) Position of UHF radio

(2) Aerial mounting plate

(3) 12.7 mm (0.50 inch) diameter hole

  1. Mark out the mounting position of UHF radio (1). Drill and tap mounting holes as required. Maximum diameter to be 6 mm (0.23 inch).

  1. Manufacture an aerial mounting plate. Weld aerial mounting plate (2) in the position shown in Illustration 1. Refer to Maintenance Manual, RENR4700 (1DE0603), "Machine Repairs and Welding Procedures", "Safety".

  1. Drill 12.7 mm (0.50 inch) diameter hole (3) for the aerial cable. Refer to Illustration 1.

  1. Weld two 9EP1705 Mounts (1) in the position shown in Illustration 2. Refer to Maintenance Manual, RENR4700 (1DE0603), "Machine Repairs and Welding Procedures", "Safety"and Maintenance Manual, RENR4700 (1DE0603), "Machine Repairs and Welding Procedures", "Preheat, Interpass and Heat Input".

  1. Manufacture an aerial mounting plate. Weld aerial mounting plate (2) in the position shown in Illustration 2. Refer to Maintenance Manual, RENR4700 (1DE0603), "Machine Repairs and Welding Procedures", "Safety".

NOTICE

  1. Remove outer console (4) .

  1. Remove inner console (2) .

  1. Manufacture a suitable mounting plate to suit the UHF radio being installed.

  1. Weld manufactured mounting plate (1) in the position shown in Illustration 3. Refer to Maintenance Manual, RENR4700 (1DE0603), "Machine Repairs and Welding Procedures", "Safety".

  1. Manufacture an aerial mounting plate. Weld aerial mounting plate (5) in the position shown in Illustration 4. Refer to Maintenance Manual, RENR4700 (1DE0603), "Machine Repairs and Welding Procedures", "Safety".

  1. Drill 12.7 mm (0.50 inch) diameter hole (6) for the aerial cable. Refer to Illustration 4.

  1. Drill 12.7 mm (0.50 inch) diameter hole (3) for the aerial cable. Refer to Illustration 5.

  1. Manufacture brackets as required in order to suit existing tapping block (1) .

  1. Drill and tap additional mounting holes as required. Maximum diameter to be 6 mm (0.23 inch).
