Improved Autolube Hoses Are Now Used on 950K and 962K Wheel Loaders {7510, 7540}

Description of Change: A Rework Procedure is available for installing improved Autolube Hoses.

Adaptable To: The Rework Procedure outlines the procedure for removal of the former long Autolube Hoses and installation of shorter Autolube Hoses.

A Rework Instruction is available for replacing two longer 349-8777 Hose As (A) with two shorter 458-2067 Hose As (7) and two new 458-2066 Hose As (6).

Rework Procedure

  1. Remove Clips (D), Bolts (E), and Washers (F) on longer 349-8777 Hose As (A). Discard Clips (D) and retain Bolts (E) and Washers (F) for reuse. Refer to Illustration 2.

  1. Remove two Clips (G) on Autolube Hoses (A) at machine hitch area and discard. Retain bolts and washers for reuse. Refer to Illustration 2.

  1. Free secondary smaller Autolube Lines clipped to primary 349-8777 Hose As (A) by cutting Cable Strap (H). Refer to Illustration 2.

  1. Remove and discard the two old 349-8777 Hose As (A). Refer to Illustration 2.

  1. Remove and discard the Clipping Block (J) from engine frame in preparation of new configuration. Refer to Illustration 3.

  1. Weld Connection Block (8) on engine frame top RH rail at the location shown. Ensure that the Block is 103.5 ± 3 mm (4.07 ± 0.12 inch) (K) from top surface of engine frame right-hand rail side plate and flushed with the front surface of engine frame right-hand rail front plate). Confirm that the larger 1/4-18 NPTF tapped holes (L) on the Connection Block (8) face to the top of the machine while smaller 1/8-16 NPTF tapped holes (M) on Connection Block (8) face towards inside center of machine. Refer to Illustration 4.

  1. Add two Couplings (1) into the larger 1/4-18 NPTF holes (L) on the top face of Connection Block (8). Refer to Illustration 4.

  1. Remove two old Fittings (N) from Autolube Distribution Valve (C) at machine hitch and discard. Refer to Illustration 5.

  1. Add two new Pipe Bushings (5) on the Autolube Distribution Valve (C) at machine hitch. Refer to Illustration 5.

  1. Install two new Autolube Hoses (6) as shown from Connection Block (8) on engine frame to the Autolube Pump (B) at back of the machine. Refer to Illustration 6.

  1. Secure Autolube Hoses (6) using five Clips (9) and retained Bolts (E) and Washers (F). Refer to Illustration 6.

  1. Install two shorter Autolube Hoses (7) as shown between Distribution Valve (C) at machine hitch area to Connection Block (8) on engine frame. Refer to Illustration 6.

  1. Install two new Clips (3) on shorter Autolube Hoses at machine hitch area. Reuse the bolts and washers retained from earlier removal of old configuration. Make sure that the left edge of green locating tape on shorter Autolube Hoses (7) aligns to the left edge of left hand Clip (3) at the machine hitch. This action will ensure maximum slack in the hoses at machine hitch for all articulation positions. Refer to Illustration 6.

  1. Cut Plastic Guard (10) into four equal pieces of 350 mm (13.78 inch) each. Install Plastic Guard (10) on two new shorter Autolube Hoses (7) at the locations (10a), (10b), (10c), and (10d). Refer to Illustration 7.

  1. Use Cable Straps (2) to fix secondary smaller Autolube Lines to primary shorter Autolube Hose (7) near the Autolube Distribution Valve (C). Refer to Illustration 7.
