An Improved Suction Fan Group Is Now Used on Certain 620K and 620H Wheel Tractor-Scrapers {1356}

Description of Change: A new adapter is now used in the suction fan group on the machines listed above. The new adapter is made of harder material and will allow for full engagement of the nut. Also, the torque value for the nut is increased to provide better retention.

- Remove six 8T-4195 Bolts, six 8T-4121 Hard Washer, and 385-5583 Fan Spider As. Save all parts.
- Remove 3E-8000 Jam Nut and 386-2460 Adapter. Discard all parts.
- Install 385-5583 Fan Spider As using new adapter (1), washer (2), nut (3), six 8T-4195 Bolts, and six 8T-4121 Hard Washers that were saved in Step 1. Tighten 8T-3980 Nut to a torque of 240 N·m (177 lb ft).
Note: Before assembly, apply blue Loctite on the threads of nut (2). Also clean fan shaft and adapter surface to ensure that, the surfaces are free of dirt and oil.
