(A) Enter the part number of the files, when searching for the software and configuration files in SIS Web. Entering the machines Serial Number will not always give the compatible configuration file for the flash file used on the VIMS platform.
(B) When searching for the Latest Production software in SIS Web, in the Flash Software Download page, click on the "VIMS Software & Current Releases" Link. This will bring up the "MINING.AVS.COM" web page. Under Related Links, click on "VIMS 3G Production Software Compatibility Matrix". The VIMS3G Production Flash File and Production Configuration Compatibility Matrix will pop up. Search for the correct software files for a specific machine type.
(C) Before using Communications Adapter 3 (CA3), make sure that the PC drivers and CA3 firmware have been updated.
(D) Use the latest version of AVSpare Electronic Technician (Cat ET) for the optimal machine software support and use "WinFlash" to flash the new software onto the Module.
(E) The Configuration files are flashed onto the VIMS Module using the latest version of VIMSpc (2013A or later). Get the latest version of VIMSpc at:

Improvements of Payload Control System (PCS) and Cat® Production Measurement (CPM) Support (523 and PLVIMS)
- Enhanced support for the currently selected Material ID information to be available along with Truck ID information, on certain Medium Wheel Loaders equipped with CPM.
- Updated to resolve potential ECM resets that could result in generating incorrect or missing printer ticket information on certain Medium Wheel Loaders equipped with CPM or PCS.
- Enhanced the ability to change units of measurement between English and Metric, on certain Medium Wheel Loaders equipped with PCS.
Update the VIMS radio to the latest production software if Product Link is used with VIMS. Refer to Table 2.

Note:
(a) A4:N4 with the PCS only configuration can function as PL and is an enabler for PCS reports. However, PCS (Software Enable Attachment (SEA)) must be enabled in the Implement Module for PCS to function. When PCS only config is installed, "Data Acquisition System" (SEA override) is auto installed/enabled for supporting PCS reports.
(b) VIMS is an SEA on these machines and will require a factory password to install/enable VIMS. With the VIMS configuration, it can function as PL and is the enabler for VIMS functionality and PCS reports. However both VIMS (SEA) and PCS (SEA) must be installed in the VIMS and Implement ECMs, respectively for VIMS and PCS to function. With just VIMS (SEA) installed and PCS (SEA) not installed, VIMS will function, but there will be no data in the PCS reports.
(c) Enter the password for the machine when the pop-up appears, it will be directed to obtain a password from the system after registering the machine through the SEA Dept.
