( 1 ) | Only one of the two tip groups need to be ordered. |
( 2 ) | This is included with the tip assemblies. |
Remove the old tip. Clean the adapter nose and examine the adapter nose. Use the following steps to determine if the adapter will need to be replaced.
- Install any J800 tip on the adapter and slide a new 134-1808 Pin into the adapter. Do not insert a retainer into the counterbore. While you are pushing the tip on the adapter move the tip up and down in a twisting motion. If the tip makes contact with the pin or if the tip comes close to contacting the pin, the adapter should be replaced.
- Measure the tip of the adapter nose to the front of pin hole (A). If the dimension is less than 122.6 mm (4.8 inch) the adapter should be replaced.

The following information includes the instructions for installation of the tip.
- Remove the J800 pin and install a 322-5191 Pin Kit into the pin hole that is located on the tip of the adapter.
- Check the tip in order to make sure that the latches of retainer (4) are rotated to the unlocked position on the right hand side of the tip and the up position on the left hand side of the tip. This allows the tip to slide on the adapter and over the pin.

- Lock the tip by rotating the latch of retainer (4) clockwise.

- Mount the new tip on the adapter. Use a 19.05 mm (0.75 inch) ratchet drive to rotate both of retainers clockwise until the latch is vertical. This will indicate that the retainer is locked and fully engaged around the pin.
- Use the illustrations that are above to verify the locked position.
