2009/06/15 The Engine Enclosure May Need to Be Updated {7267, 7276} Caterpillar

Track-Type Tractor:

D9T (S/N: RJS1-UP)

Description of Change: An update to the left side 248-4763 Enclosure Gp or 248-5527 Enclosure Gp on the D9T has resulted in the air conditioner lines and the fuel lines moved away from the engine enclosure. As a result, (S/N: RJS577-UP) no longer contain bosses that secure the fuel lines and the air conditioner lines to the 248-4763 Enclosure Gp or 248-5527 Enclosure Gp .

This update is required for only the machines that will be replacing the 248-4763 Enclosure Gp or 248-5527 Enclosure Gp. Otherwise, this update is not required.

Adaptable To: The machines that are listed below do not need this update:

• D9T (S/N: RJS577-UP)

The machines that are listed below will need this update if the 248-4763 Enclosure Gp or 248-5527 Enclosure Gp is replaced:

• D9T (S/N: RJS1-576)

The following procedure may need to be used for machines that were built before (S/N: RJS577) with the current 210-1653 Plate As .

Note: The current 210-1653 Plate As does not contain short 7Y-8763 Boss (1) or long 9R-3761 Boss (2) for mounting the air conditioner lines and the fuel lines.For replacement of the 210-1653 Plate As on machines (S/N: RJS1-576), use the dimensions in Illustration 1 in order to weld short 7Y-8763 Boss (1) and long 9R-3761 Boss (2) in the proper location.
