2009/06/22 Improvements Have Been Made to the Lift Cylinder {5102} Caterpillar

Description of Change: The D7G Series 2 that is equipped with the 294-0666 Cylinder Mounting Gp has had instances of the 3B-6753 Bolt and the 1D-4615 Bolt loosening or possibly breaking. The bolts are located on both sides of the 3G-7970 Cylinder Mounting Gp .

1. Inspect the surface under the bolt head and the nut. If there is paint on the surface, remove the paint and make sure that the surface is flat and smooth.

2. Inspect the bolts and replace the bolts if the bolts are damaged.

3. Install twelve 6V-2360 Hard Washers under the nuts and the bolts on both sides of the 3G-7970 Cylinder Mounting Gp. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 370 N·m (273 lb ft).
