Description of Change: Improved hardware is now available for the retaining ring on the auger drive for certain Wheel Tractor-Scrapers. The improved hardware includes eight new higher grade bolts. The increased grade will improve the bolted joint.

Adaptable To: The eight new 108-1781 Bolts are direct replacements for the eight 6V-8200 Bolts. The eight new bolts are adaptable to the following machines:

• 621F (S/N: 4SK762,924,993,1046)

• 621G (S/N: ALP416; CEN161,300,303,310,400,403; DBB210,213,217,272,281,285,293,300,306)

• 627F (S/N: 1DL517,633,641,774,786,791,795,808,821,866,901)

Note: The 153-5099 Auger Drive Gear has been cancelled. The new 353-3323 Auger Drive Gear will replace the 153-5099 Auger Drive Gear .

1. Replace the eight old bolts that were used to hold the bottom Duo-cone retaining ring with eight new bolts (1). Remove one bolt at a time and replace one bolt at a time.

   Note: Heat may be required in order to remove the existing bolts.

2. Torque eight bolts (1) to 70 ± 15 N·m (50 ± 11 lb ft).

   Note: Apply 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound to the threads.

Rework Procedure for the 630 and 650 Wheel Tractor-Scrapers

Note: The 153-5101 Auger Drive Gear has been cancelled. The new 353-3324 Auger Drive Gear will replace the 153-5101 Auger Drive Gear .

1. Remove the drive lug in order to allow access to the Duo-cone retainer bolts.

   Note: Heat may be required in order to remove the drive lug.

2. .Replace the eight old bolts that were used to hold the bottom Duo-cone retaining ring with eight new bolts (1). Remove one bolt at a time and replace one bolt at a time.

   Note: Heat may be required in order to remove the existing bolts.

3. Torque eight bolts (1) to 70 ± 15 N·m (50 ± 11 lb ft).

   Note: Apply 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound to the threads.
