Description of Change: The new bowl for the fuel/water separator is composed of a material that has superior chemical resistance. Also, the new material will prevent the bowl from cracking.

Adaptable To: The new 343-5527 Bowl is a direct replacement for the existing 270-5320 Bowl.

Note: Inspect the bowl of the fuel/water separator when the fuel filter is changed. Replace the bowl if any damage is found. This bowl is a maintenance item and the bowl will need to be replaced periodically.This change is effective for all serial numbers that were built after 14October 2009.

Note: Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents to clean the bowl of the fuel/water separator. The chemicals such as acetone in these solvents can cause the bowl to crack by weakening the plastic. Diesel fuel is adequate for cleaning the bowl of the fuel/water separator in most situations.
