NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat^® products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new AVSpare parts for replacement.
Make sure that the engine is securely placed on three 1U-9758 Stands before starting the assembly procedure.
Install the O-ring seal to the torque converter.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device on the torque converter. Install the torque converter to the engine. The weight of the torque converter is approximately 88 kg (194 lb). Install clip (19) and bolts (18) to torque converter (3). Remove Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device from the torque converter.

Install hose (7) to torque converter (3) and tighten retaining nut (17).

Install harness assemblies (15) and bolts (14) to torque converter oil temperature sender (16).

Install wire (13) and nut (12) to the torque converter.

Use two people to install transmission pump (10) to torque converter (3). The weight of transmission pump (10) is approximately 23 kg (51 lb). Install bolts (11) to transmission pump (10).

Install strainer (8) to transmission pump (10) and tighten retaining nut (9).

Connect hose (7) to strainer (8) and tighten retaining nut (6).

Attach a suitable lifting device to hydraulic and steering pump (5). Install the hydraulic and steering pump (5) to torque converter (3). The weight of hydraulic and steering pump (5) is approximately 22 kg (50 lb). Install bolts (4) to hydraulic and steering pump (5). Remove the suitable lifting device from hydraulic and steering pump (5).

Attach a suitable lifting device to elevator pump (2). Install the elevator pump (2) to torque converter (3). The weight of elevator pump (2) is approximately 35 kg (77 lb). Install bolts (1) to elevator pump (2). Remove the suitable lifting device from elevator pump (2).
