Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.



NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "AVSpare Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on AVSpare products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Disconnect fuel injection lines (1) from fuel injection nozzles (2). Plug all openings immediately.

  1. Disconnect fuel injection lines (1) from fuel injection pump (5). Plug all openings immediately.

    Note: Secure the delivery valves with a wrench when you remove fuel injection lines (1) at fuel injection pump (5) .

  1. Remove fuel injection lines (1) from the engine.

  1. Disconnect fuel return line (3) from overflow valve (4) on fuel injection pump (5). Remove the sealing washers from overflow valve (4) .

    Note: Check the condition of the sealing washers on the overflow valve. Replace the sealing washers, if necessary.

  1. Remove fuel return line (3) from fuel injection nozzles (2) .

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

  1. Install fuel return line (3) on fuel injection nozzles (2) and on fuel injection pump (5). Position the sealing washers on overflow valve (4). Tighten overflow valve (4) to a torque of 22 to 31 N·m (16 to 23 lb ft).

  1. Position the fuel injection lines on the engine.

  1. Connect fuel injection lines (1) at fuel injection pump (5). Tighten the union nuts to a torque of 27 to 32 N·m (20 to 24 lb ft).

    Note: Secure the delivery valves with a wrench when you install fuel injection lines (1) to fuel injection pump (5) .

  1. Connect fuel injection lines (1) to fuel injection nozzles (2). Tighten the union nuts to a torque of 27 to 32 N·m (20 to 24 lb ft).
