( 1 ) If electric power is not available, use 9U-6600 Hand Hydraulic Pump .

Start By:

  1. Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to the Service Manual module Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect" for the machine that is being serviced.

Upper Pin (C Pin)

Perform the following steps in order to remove the upper pin assembly.

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device and Tooling (A) to lever assembly (1). Refer to Illustration 1. Attach the hook of Tooling (A) to link assembly (1) with a suitable lifting device. The weight of lever assembly (1) with a removed pin assembly (2) is approximately 220 kg (480 lb).

  1. Remove bolts (3) and the washers.

  1. Remove plate (4) .

  1. Install Tooling (B) to pin assembly (2). The weight of Tooling (B) is approximately 115 kg (250 lb).

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to the double acting cylinder. Pull pin assembly (2) out of the bore approximately 175 mm (7.0 inch).

  1. Install another suitable lifting device to Tooling (B) .

  1. Pull pin assembly (2). Remove pin assembly (2) from Tooling (B). The weight of pin assembly (2) is approximately 60 kg (130 lb).

Lower Pin (B Pin)

Perform the following steps in order to remove the lower pin assembly from the right side of the work tool.

  1. Remove bolts (6) and washers.

  1. Remove plate (7) .

  1. Install Tooling (C) to pin assembly (5). The weight of Tooling (C) is approximately 95 kg (210 lb).

  1. Pull pin assembly (5) out of the bore approximately 175 mm (7.0 inch).

  1. Install another suitable lifting device to Tooling (C) .

  1. Remove pin assembly (5). At this time, the shims will also be removed.

    Note: Mark the shims and the location of the shims for assembly.

  1. Remove pin assembly (5) from Tooling (C). The weight of pin assembly (5) is approximately 60 kg (130 lb).

  1. Perform Step 1 through Step 7 in order to remove the lower pin assembly from the other side of the work tool.

  1. Lower the link assembly (1) in order to clear the work tool at removal. When the upper pin assembly and the two lower pin assemblies are removed, separate the steering frame lock. Start the engine and move the machine away from the work tool.

  1. Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position. Raise link assembly (1). Use a cable and cable clamps in order to tie the link assembly to the lever and bearing assembly.

  1. Remove Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device.
