D6N Track-Type Tractor Power Train Front Track Roller Frame - Remove Caterpillar

Removal Procedure

1. Release the track tension. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Track - Check/Adjust".

2. Position master link (1) and the block, as shown.

3. Attach a suitable lifting device to the track, as shown.

4. Position suitable cribbing, as shown.

5. Remove bolts (2).

6. Remove track (3).

7. Position the track out of the way.

8. Attach a suitable lifting device to master link (1). Apply tension to the master link. Remove the cribbing.

9. Remove bolts (4).

10. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to front track roller (5). Apply lifting tension to the front track roller frame.

11. Remove bolts (6) from cover (7).

12. Repeat Step 11 for the opposite side.

13. Install Tooling (B) in order to remove cover (7).

    Note: Drain the oil into a suitable container.

14. Repeat Step 13 for the opposite side.

15. Use a pry bar in order to remove the front track roller.

16. Partially remove front track roller (5) and install Tooling (C). Attach a suitable lifting device to front track roller (5).

17. Remove front track roller (5). The weight of front track roller (5) is approximately 385 kg (850 lb).

    Note: Drain the oil into a suitable container.

18. Remove seal (8) and bearing (10) from front track roller frame (9), if necessary.
