Installation Procedure

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury. To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.

1. Attach a suitable lifting device to spring (3). Install spring (3). The weight of spring (3) is approximately 32 kg (70 lb).

2. Install tube assembly (2).

3. Install nut (1).

4. Position Tooling (A) 280 mm (11.0 inch) away from the roller frame.

5. Center the puller stud onto tube assembly (2).

6. Apply enough pressure to tube assembly (2) so that tube assembly (2) is off of nut (1) by a distance of 12.7 mm (0.50 inch). Tighten nut (4). Slowly release the pressure.

7. Adjust the puller stud, as needed. Center the lead bolt onto tube assembly (2).

   Note: Do not compress spring (3) more than 13 mm (0.5 inch) at a time.

8. Repeat Step 5 through Step 7 until nut (1) is back to the original position.

   Note: The face of nut (1) should be 7 ± 2 mm (0.276 ± 0.079 inch) from the face of the front track roller frame.

End By:

1. Install the front track roller frame. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Front Track Roller Frame - Install".

2. Install the track adjuster. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track Adjuster - Remove and Install".
