Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
- Apply Tooling (E) on the mating surfaces of the torque converter and the transmission.
- Install torque converter (6). The weight of torque converter (6) is approximately 227 kg (500 lb).

- Install tube assembly (4). Install bolts (5). Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 55 ± 10 N·m (41 ± 7 lb ft).

- Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to the transmission and the torque converter. Position the transmission and the torque converter on Tooling (B). Connect harness assembly (3) .

- Install yoke (2). Install bolt (1) and the washer.

- Remove the transmission and the torque converter from Tooling (B). Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device, as shown.

- Fill the transmission with fluid. The capacity of the transmission is 30 L (8 US gal).
End By: Connect the transmission and the torque converter from the engine. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine and Torque Converter, Transmission - Connect".
