Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".

  1. Park the machine on a flat, level surface. Lower the bucket to the ground. Chock the wheels in order to prevent the machine from rolling when the drive shaft is removed.

  1. Remove bolts (1) and remove straps (2) .

  1. Remove bolts (3) and remove straps (4). Remove center drive shaft (5) .

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

When the center drive shaft is installed, it must be installed in phase with the front and rear drive shafts. Serious component damage could occur. Be certain that all the joint group, all the yokes, and all the lubricating fittings are aligned.

  1. Carefully install center drive shaft (5) .

  1. Support center drive shaft (5). Install two straps (4) and bolts (3). The torque for bolts (3) is 71 ± 10 N·m (52 ± 7 lb ft).

  1. Install straps (2) and bolts (1). The torque for bolts (3) is 71 ± 10 N·m (52 ± 7 lb ft).

  1. Lubricate the rear drive shaft.

End By: Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
