1.1. Disassembly Procedure

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the hydraulic tank.


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.



NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Remove hydraulic screen assemblies (1) and the O-ring seals.

  2. Remove bolts (3), liquid gage (2), and the O-ring seals.

  3. Remove bolts (4) and the washers. Remove cover (5).

  4. Remove breather assembly (6) and the O-ring seal.

  5. Remove bypass valve (7) from cover (5). Remove O-ring seal (8) from cover (5).

  6. Remove element (9).

  7. Remove plug (10) and the O-ring seal.

  8. Remove bolts (11), the washers, plate assembly (12), and the gasket.

  9. Remove temperature sensor (13) and the O-ring seal.

  10. Remove hydraulic housing assembly (14).

  11. Remove bolts (15), the washers, bolts (17), the washers, and plate (16).

  12. Remove bolts (18), the washers, and screen assembly (19).
