Start By:
- Remove the bulldozer.
- Separate the track.

Personal injury can result from performing service on the track roller frame. Refer to Special Instruction, SMHS8273 for inspection and removal procedures before performing any service. |
- Install Tooling (F), as shown. Tooling (F) will hold the bogies in the correct position.
- Install Tooling (G) to hold the frame assembly in position.

- Remove plug (2). Drain the oil from the recoil spring and the bearing compartment into a suitable container for storage or disposal.

Illustration 8 g01139337 - Position Tooling (A) under the equalizer bar on the opposite side of the track roller frame. Raise the equalizer bar until a
25 mm (1.0 inch) piece of the bar stock can be installed between the frame and the equalizer bar. Place the bar stock on the side of the track that is being removed. - Loosen bolts (3). Remove equalizer bar pin (4) from the rear track roller frame.

- Attach a suitable lifting device to trunnion (8). The weight of trunnion (8) is approximately

- Remove Tooling (A) from the front track roller frame.

The heavy assembly can fall if using an incorrect hoist to lift the load.
Be sure the hoist has the correct capacity to lift a heavy assembly. Approximate weight of the assembly is given below.

- Use a suitable lifting device and Tooling (B) to remove the track roller frame from the machine. Place suitable blocking on the opposite side under track to help support the weight of the tractor and help prevent tipping. The combined weight of the track roller frame and Tooling (B) is approximately
4699 kg (10360 lb) .

- Install the track roller frame in the reverse order of removal.

Table 2 Torque Table Undercarriage Types Torque Value Suspended Undercarriage 1800 ± 250 N·m (1328 ± 184 lb ft) Non-Suspended Undercarriage 1600 ± 200 N·m (1180± 148 lb ft) - Tighten bolt (3A) to the torque value listed in Table 2.
- Tighten bolt (3B) to the torque value listed in Table 2.
- Torque bolt (3A) again to the torque value listed in Table 2.
- Torque bolt (3B) again to the torque value listed in Table 2.
- Repeat Step 1a through Step 1d on the other side of machine.
- Install bolts (7) to a torque of
240 ± 40 N·m (177 ± 30 lb ft) .
