Start By:

  1. Remove the bulldozer.

  2. Separate the track.

  1. Install Tooling (F), as shown. Tooling (F) will hold the bogies in the correct position.

  2. Install Tooling (G) to hold the frame assembly in position.

  3. Raise the rear of the machine until the track guides are above the track links. Position Tooling (D) under the machine.

    For Tooling (E)

  4. Position Tooling (E) under the front of the machine. Use Tooling (E) to raise the front of the machine until the track guides are above the track links.

    For Tooling (E1)

  5. Use Tooling (E1) to raise the rear of the machine until the track guides are above the track links. Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303, "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (E1).

  6. Raise the front of the machine with Tooling (E1) until the track guides are above the track links.

  7. Remove plug (1). Drain the oil from the pivot shaft compartment into a suitable container for storage or disposal.

  8. Remove plug (2). Drain the oil from the recoil spring and the bearing compartment into a suitable container for storage or disposal.

  9. Position Tooling (A) under the equalizer bar on the opposite side of the track roller frame. Raise the equalizer bar until a 25 mm (1.0 inch) piece of the bar stock can be installed between the frame and the equalizer bar. Place the bar stock on the side of the track that is being removed. The bar stock keeps the equalizer bar in the original position during the removal of the track roller frame.

  10. Position Tooling (A) under the front track roller frame.

  11. Loosen bolts (3). Remove equalizer bar pin (4) from the rear track roller frame.

  12. Remove bolts (5) from seal retainer (6).

  13. Attach a suitable lifting device to trunnion (8). The weight of trunnion (8) is approximately 43 kg (95 lb). Remove bolts (7) and trunnion (8).

  14. Remove plug (9) and the O-ring seal from plate (10).

  15. Use Tooling (C) to remove plate (10).

  16. Remove bolts (11), plate (12), and the thrust ring from the shaft.

  17. Remove Tooling (A) from the front track roller frame.

    Personal injury or death can result from lifting a heavy assembly.

    The heavy assembly can fall if using an incorrect hoist to lift the load.

    Be sure the hoist has the correct capacity to lift a heavy assembly. Approximate weight of the assembly is given below.

  18. Use a suitable lifting device and Tooling (B) to remove the track roller frame from the machine. Place suitable blocking on the opposite side under track to help support the weight of the tractor and help prevent tipping. The combined weight of the track roller frame and Tooling (B) is approximately 4699 kg (10360 lb).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the track roller frame in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten bolt (3A) to the torque value listed in Table 2.

    2. Tighten bolt (3B) to the torque value listed in Table 2.

    3. Torque bolt (3A) again to the torque value listed in Table 2.

    4. Torque bolt (3B) again to the torque value listed in Table 2.

    5. Repeat Step 1a through Step 1d on the other side of machine.

    6. Install bolts (7) to a torque of 240 ± 40 N·m (177 ± 30 lb ft).
