Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the hood.

  1. If necessary, remove insulation from tube assembly (1).

  2. Disconnect tube assembly (1) from the muffler and loosen the clamp from the turbo.

  3. Mark the distance from the muffler support to the end of the muffler for assembly purposes.

  4. Remove four bolts (2), the spacers, and the washers.

  5. Attach a suitable lifting device to muffler (3). The weight of muffler (3) is approximately 96 kg (212 lb). Remove muffler (3).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install muffler (3) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. If replacing the muffler or straps, refer to Muffler and Mounting - Remove and Install for the correct mounting dimensions and strap torque procedures.

    2. Adjust tube assembly (1) and muffler (3) to ensure that the bellows has a minimum amount of misalignment. Failure to properly align the muffler with the bellows, will result in damage to the bellows.
