Start By:
- Remove the engine enclosure.
- Remove the side panels.

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
- Recover the air conditioner refrigerant from the air conditioner system. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, "All Products Air Conditioning and Heating R134a for All AVSpare Machines" for the recovery procedure. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Air Conditioning Tools" for the tools.
- Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.
- Remove hose assemblies (1) .

- Relocate pump assembly (3) .

- Disconnect hose assembly (4) and (5). Relocate filter assembly (6) to one side.

- Disconnect clamps (7). Remove tube assembly (8).

- Remove cover (14). Remove bolts (15). Rotate engine to access bolts (15).

- Remove bell housing bolts (16).

- Remove mounting bolts (17) and (18) .

- Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to engine (19). The weight of engine (19) is approximately 700 kg (1543 lb). Remove engine (19).

Installation Procedure
- Install engine (19) in the reverse order of removal.
