  1. Install lip seal (35) into lower cap (33). Retain lower cap (33) with bolts seated firmly against the lower frame assembly.

    Note: Make sure the lip on lip seal (35) faces down.

  2. Install bearing (29) into the lower frame assembly. Install upper bearing cap (30) on the frame assembly, without seal assembly (34) installed. Install bolts (31). Tighten bolts (31) to approximately 34 N·m (25 lb ft). Use feeler gauge to measure opening (X). Calculate shim thickness from the gap in opening (X) , minus 0.127 mm (0.005 inch). Apply required shims (32) to opening (X).

  3. Install seal assembly (34) into upper bearing cap (30). Install bearing cap (30) to the frame assembly, along with bolts (31). Tighten bolts (31).

    Note: Make sure the lip on lip seal (34) faces upwards.

  4. Position lower cap (25) along with seal assembly (27) on the upper frame assembly. Retain lower cap (25) with the bolts. Ensure that the lower cap is seated firmly against the frame. Install spacer (28).

    Note: Make sure the lip on lip seal (27) faces downward.

  5. Install lower bearing cup (24) and the bearing cone into the frame assembly. Install top bearing cone (24) and upper bearing cup, back to back with the lower bearing. Install shims (23). Install and tighten bolts (22) to approximately 34 N·m (25 lb ft).

  6. Install Tooling (J). Use a suitable torque wrench and Tooling (J) to determine the amount of torque that is needed to rotate the bearing cones. As required, adjust the number of shims to achieve a rolling torque between 1.0 N·m (10 lb in) and 6.0 N·m (50 lb in).

  7. Remove Tooling (J).

  8. Install lip seal assembly (26) after the shims and rolling torque have been set.

    Note: Make sure the lip on lip seal (26) is facing upwards.

  9. Reinstall upper cap (21) and bolts (22).

  10. Use a suitable chain to secure the loader frame to the mast of a suitable lift truck.

  11. Use Tooling (D), a suitable lifting device, and a suitable lift truck to connect the frames.

  12. Apply Tooling (G) to the upper and lower bores.

  13. Bring the front and rear of the machine together. Aligning the hitches.

  14. Insert spacer (28A) into upper hitch.

  15. Install pin (19) and lower plate (18). Install upper cover (15) and bolts (13). Tighten bolts (13) to approximately 34 N·m (25 lb ft).

  16. Measure gap (Z) with feeler gauge and record the dimension.

  17. Stack shims (16) and (17) to obtain zero clearance in gap (Z).

  18. Install cover (15), bolts (13), and (14). Tighten bolts (13) and (14).

  19. Install pin assembly (20).

  20. Connect the steering frame lock.

  21. Remove Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device from the loader frame. Repeat this step on the opposite side of the loader frame.

  22. Remove Tooling (C) from the front loader frame.

  23. Remove suitable cribbing.

  25. Remove Tooling (D1) from the back of the rear frame. Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303, "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (D1).

  26. Position harness assemblies (9). Install clamp (10) and (11).

  27. Connect harness assemblies (9).

  28. Connect hose assembly (6).

  29. Connect pilot hose assemblies (7). Connect bracket (8).

  32. Install pin assembly (3). Install bolt (2), and the washer. Repeat for the opposite side.

  34. Remove Tooling (A).

  35. Fill the hydraulic oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change" for the correct filling procedures.
