    Note: Keep the soot antenna and harness assembly connections clean from contaminants. To prevent contaminants from entering the connections, always plug or cap the connections when disconnected.

  1. Disconnect harness assemblies (3) from soot antennas (2).

  2. Remove soot antennas (2) from the diesel particulate filter assembly (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the soot antenna (1) in reverse order.

    1. Apply Tooling (A) to the threads on soot antenna (2). Torque soot antenna (2) to a torque of 45 ± 5 N·m (33 ± 4 lb ft).

      Note: Keep the soot antenna and harness assembly connections clean from contaminants.

    2. Hand tighten harness assemblies (3) when connecting to soot antenna (2).
