Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to oil cooler assembly (2). The weight of oil cooler assembly (2) is approximately 82 kg (180 lb). Remove bolts (1), bracket (3), and oil cooler assembly (2).

  2. Remove bonnet (4) and bonnet (8) from core assembly (7).

  3. Remove heater assembly (6) and adapter (5) from bonnet (4).

  4. Note orientation of diverter valve (9) for installation purposes.

  1. Install adapter (5) into bonnet (4). Apply Tooling (A) to heater assembly (6). Install heater assembly (6) into adapter (5).

  2. Install bonnet (4) and bonnet (8) onto core assembly (7).

  3. Attach a suitable lifting device to oil cooler assembly (2). The weight of oil cooler assembly (2) is approximately 82 kg (180 lb). Install oil cooler assembly (2), bracket (3), and bolts (1).
