Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |

- Turn the fuel supply to the OFF position.

Spring force will be released when covers are removed.
Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.
- Remove bolts (4) and bolts (8). Remove fuel priming pump (5) and the gasket.
- Remove plug (1). Remove the O-ring seal from plug (1). Remove the spring and the ball from the fuel filter housing.
- If necessary, disconnect hose assembly (6) and hose assembly (7). Remove bolts (3) and bracket (2).

- If necessary, install bracket (2) and bolts (3). Connect hose assembly (7) and hose assembly (6).
- Install the ball and the spring in the fuel filter housing. Install the O-ring seal on plug (1). Install plug (1).
- Position a new gasket and fuel priming pump (5).
- Install bolts (8) and bolts (4).
- Turn the fuel supply to the ON position.
