Assembly Procedure

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, thoroughly clean all parts in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Do not use wiping cloths or rags to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Dirt and other contaminants can damage the precision component. Perform assembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.

Note: Check the seals, the bearings, and the spacers for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

Note: The seals must be installed with a 2.5 mm (0.10 inch) gap between the seals and the bearings.

1. Install two sets of bearings (21). Install seals (20).

2. Install plugs (19) to a depth of 1.0 mm (0.04 inch).

3. Install bearing (18). Install spacers (17).

4. Install pin (16).

5. Apply Tooling (A) to set screw (15) and install set screw (15).

6. Install plate (14).

7. Install adjusting rods (12). Install adjusting pin (13).

8. Install brackets (11) and (10).

9. Install cover (9).

10. Install operator console (7). Install cushion (8). Install screw (6). Install screws (5). Tighten screws (5) to a torque of 6 ± 1 N·m (53 ± 9 lb in).
