  1. Check for the symptom.

  2. Determine that the symptom is active.

  3. Complete this procedure only if the symptom is active.

    Results

    • ACTIVE: Proceed to Step: 4.

    • NOT ACTIVE: If the symptom is not active, oil contamination could be the problem. Change the hydraulic oil. Change the oil filter element and clean the screens.

  4. Check the engine speed.

Guidelines for checking the engine speed refer to the System Operations, Testing and Adjusting manual for the engine in your machine.

    Expected Results

    • The engine speed is correct.

    Results

    • OKAY: Proceed to Step: 12

  5. Check the max speed setting.

Check the max speed setting for your machine through ET. Make sure the speed setting is on the proper setting for your desired operation.

  6. Recalibrate the control lever.

Be sure that the control lever position sensor is calibrated properly. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Hystat Operator Control Calibrations" for your machine.

  7. Recalibrate the pump and motor.

Be sure that the pump and motor are calibrated properly. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Calibrations" for your machine.

  8. Conduct the efficiency test for the hydrostatic pump and motors.

Guidelines for conducting the efficiency test for the hydrostatic pump and motors refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Hydrostatic Pump and Motor Efficiency - Test" for your machine.

    Expected Results

    • The hydrostatic pump and the hydrostatic motor passed the test.

    Results

    • OKAY: Proceed to Step: 4

  9. Check the motor rpm.

Check the motor rpm setting that you machine is operating at. You may need to increase the motor rpm to get the the top speed.

  10. Check the final drives.

Make sure the oil in the final drives are within the recommended specifications.

  11. Check the brake pressure.

The brakes will engage when the machine is in neutral. Be sure to check the brake pressure. Make sure the brake solenoid does not need recalibrated as well.

  12. Excessive load in undercarriage

    Expected Results

    • The undercarriage is not under load.

    Results

    • NOT OKAY: Clean the debris from the undercarriage.
