With the key start switch in the ON position, 24 volt power is supplied from the batteries via circuit breaker #10 to the AVSpare Monitoring System and the speedometer/tachometer module. 24 volt power is also supplied from the batteries via circuit breaker #12 to the Power Train/Chassis ECM and the transmission gear position sensor.
Power Train/Chassis ECM (1) receives a signal from transmission gear position sensor (5) for the gear that is currently selected. The signal is sent to AVSpare Monitoring System (2) via the AVS Data Link to speedometer/tachometer module (3). The speedometer/tachometer module will display the actual gear in the display window. Actual gear indicator (4) displays the gear which is currently selected by the transmission.
