The Digital Input Configurations should be verified and changed if required. These values are used to describe and configure the digital sensors "#1", "#2", "#3", and "#4" of the product link system. See Systems Operation, "Spare Inputs" for details of the types of switches and their implementations.
Digital Sensor Inp #x Type Configuration

The digital sensor type configuration informs the system how to interpret the data from the attached sensor. To configure this value, highlight it and select "Change" at the lower left corner of the screen. You can also select the value by double-clicking the row. The current value will appear along with a pull-down menu to select the new value as shown in illustration 1. The choices are as follows:
- Normally Closed - This type of sensor is normally at a closed (or ground) state and is open (or high) when active.
- Normally Open - This type of sensor is normally at a open (or high) state and is closed (or ground) when active.
- Not Configured - This is the default setting signifying that there is no sensor attached at this time.
- Not Installed - This value is not currently allowed, but is included for possible future usage. If this is selected, the Product Link module will default the value to "Not Configured".
Digital Sensor Input #x Description
Illustration 2 | g00663490 |
This is a 24-character field used to describe what the sensor is monitoring. An example is "TRACK TENSION SENSOR". The text can be entered in lower or upper case, but will be displayed in upper case only. This value is used in the office software to display the sensor status. The default is "DIGITAL INPUT 1". To configure this value, highlight it and select "Change" at the lower left corner of the screen. The new value may be entered as shown in illustration 2.
Digital Sensor Inp #x Delay Time
Illustration 3 | g00663477 |
Each installed sensor uses this parameter to program the delay time before it goes active. This value can be between 0.1 to 1200 seconds. It is important to set this time correctly so spurious alarms are not set or activation is missed. The default value is 30.0 seconds. To configure this value, highlight it and select "Change" at the lower left corner of the screen. The new value may be entered as shown in illustration 3.
