Gauges Page (1) Warning Indicator Alert Reminder Lamp |
Alert Reminder Lamp - This icon is designed to alert the operator to an event issue. The icon will flash three times to get the attention of the operator. The Cat monitoring system provides three warning categories. The first category requires only operator awareness. The second warning category requires an operator response. The third warning category requires immediate shutdown of the machine.
If the monitoring system detects an abnormal operating condition, the operator will be notified. The action alarm will appear on the indication display when a warning is active. The action lamp will flash red for warning level notifications.
The signal is received via the CAN data link from the engine ECM. The sequence for the warning levels is listed below:
- Level 1 = no action lamp, no alarm
- Level 2 = Amber flashing action lamp (1 second ON, 1 second OFF)
- Red flashing action lamp (1 second ON, 1 second OFF), pulsing horn (1 second ON, 1 second OFF)
Note: If communication with the CAN data link is lost to the display module for 4 seconds or more, the indicator will turn Amber.
Note: Certain conditions will allow the machine to be operated in the limp home mode.
Table 1 indicates the status of the alarm for each warning level.
If the monitoring system detects an abnormal operating condition, the operator will be notified.
Note: For more information on Diagnostics, to the "Service Menu" section of this manual.

Level 3 Warnings are the highest priority. A Level 3 Warning Pop-Up message banner always supersedes an active Level 2 Warning (Amber) or active Level 1 Warning (Gray).
Warning Level 3 requires an immediate safe shutdown of the machine to avoid damage to the machine or injury to personnel around the machine. The problem that caused the event must be corrected before machine operation can resume.
A Level 3 Warning Pop-Up Message Banner supersedes any active Level 1 Warning (Gray) Pop-Up Message or any active Level 2 Warning (Amber) Pop-Up Message.
Note: Level 3 Events and Diagnostics can be reduced or snoozed. The operator should investigate the cause of the Level 3 message as soon as possible.
Note: If the monitoring system detects an abnormal operating condition, the operator will be notified.
Note: Certain conditions will allow the machine to be operated in the limp home mode.
to Table 1 for the status of the alarm of each warning level.
If the monitoring system detects an abnormal operating condition, the operator will be notified.
The action lamp will flash with an amber color to indicate a level 2 warning. The action lamp will flash with a red color to indicate a level 3 warning.
A Level 2 warning indicates that a failure has occurred and that machine operation will be changed.
