Operator Log-in Procedure

The machine has a feature called the Machine Security System (MSS). When installed, MSS protects the machine from unauthorized operation.

The Operator/Pound Sign icon shows the operator that the MSS Security is not installed.

Note: The example on the left used in Illustration 1 has the Key icon. This icon is located in the Navigation Path (2). This icon shows the operator that the MSS Security is installed.

This procedure is also applicable when the MSS Security is not installed. The operator will instead see the Operator/Pound Sign icon as shown on the right in Illustration 1.

MSS is detecting if there is a signal or a passcode. The operator then has the option of pressing the following button:

  • "Passcode Entry"

  • "Skip Log In"

Functional Test

The monitoring system informs the operator of the status of the machine systems, problems, or impending problems.

------ WARNING! ------

If the action alarm does not sound during this test or machine monitoring displays are not functioning, do not operate the machine until the cause has been corrected. Machine operation with faulty action alarms or displays could result in injury or death as any Warning Category 3 notifications will not be relayed to the operator.

The graphics display performs a functional test when commanded by the controlling machine ECM or when first powered up via key switch activation.

The functional test consists of illuminating all indicators at maximum intensity, turning ON the LCD, and turning ON the horn driver and internal alarm. The horn driver turns ON for the first half of the functional test time and the internal alarm turns ON for the second half of the functional test time. The duration of the functional test will be less than 3 seconds.

For dedicated single-color indicators, the indicators will be illuminated for the entire test. For dual-colored indicator locations, the indicator locations shall display both colors sequentially during the functional test. The time of display of each color location is equal to the one-half the total functional test time.

During the functional test, the LCD backlighting and the button backlighting will be ON 100%.
