Recommended mining operation environments include (but are not limited to):
- stockpile feeding
- mining leach pads
- high-wall toe operation
- operating near an edge
- operating around hazardous material
The Remote Control System is currently compatible with the D10T and D11T.
Once the Command system is installed on a compatible machine, that machine can be remotely controlled via the Operator Console or Operator Station. Command for dozing can utilize the Cat® Terrain system as an Avoidance System. Terrain can be configured to keep the remotely controlled machine in a defined worksite boundary while keeping the machine out of a number of defined avoidance zones.
The remote control system consists of the following onboard and off-board components:
- Indicator Lights
- Receiver
- Remote Control ECM (System Master) (RCM)
- Manual Override Switch
- Remote Control Electrical Center (relay box)
- Power Supply
- Manual/Remote Mode switch
- Access Ladder switch (Optional function)
- Delayed Lighting switch (Not available for RJG, ; GEB, and ; TPB)
- Engine Shutdown switch
- Lock Out tab
- Operator Console
