Instrument Cluster

The LCD screen of the instrument cluster will show an active diagnostic code log. See this System Operation, "Menus (Instrument Cluster)" for the procedure for displaying active diagnostic codes.

There are a total of seven menus that are available for navigation. See this System Operation, "Menu Contents" for details of the structure of the menu. The display of the Messenger has a menu that allows the user to view more information about the machine or set up certain operating conditions. Due to the size of the screen, only one menu option is visible at a time.

The menu of the Messenger is arranged in a stair step list format. The buttons of the Messenger are used in order to navigate the structure of the Messenger menu.

Operator Profile Selection Screen

After the Power Up sequence, the "Operator Profile Selection" screen will automatically be displayed on the Messenger.

The "Operator Profile Selection" screen allows the operator to keep track of accumulated totals and machine settings via a profile name. Multiple operators can recall machine settings and accumulated totals by using the profile names that were selected or created.

The "Operator Profile Selection" screen is displayed with options for accepting the previous profile, creating a new profile, or selecting a different profile. See Figure 5.

Use the following instructions in order to select a profile name:

  1. In order to accept the previous profile, press the "OK" button.

    Note: If no buttons are pushed, the previous profile will be automatically selected after ten seconds.

  1. Perform the following in order to select a different profile:

    1. Press the Back button.

    1. Press the Scroll Up button or press the Scroll Down button in order to highlight a different previous profile.

    1. Press the "OK" button in order to accept the highlighted profile.

  1. Perform the following in order to create a new profile:

    1. Press the Back button.

    1. Select the characters for a profile name. One to three characters may be used. Use the Scroll Up button, the Scroll Down button, and the "OK" button.

    1. Press the "OK" button.

  1. The default screen is then displayed.

See the System Operation, "Menus (Messenger)" section of this manual for the details of the "Operator Profile Selection" menu.

Default Screen of the Messenger

  • At the start-up of the machine, after the profile is selected, the default screen is displayed.

  • The default screen will remain displayed until the operator or the technician navigate to another screen.

(1) The date display area has the following characteristics:

  • Display only

  • Able to be changed from the machine configuration

(3) The "Main Menu" display area has the following characteristics:

  • Shortcut to the "Main Menu"

(4) The "Operator Settings" display area has the following characteristics:

  • Shortcut to the "Operator Settings" submenu

(5) The "Operator" display area has the following characteristics:

  • Shortcut to the "Operator Profile" submenu

  • Name of the current operator profile

(6) The "Job" display area has the following characteristics:

  • Shortcut to the "Job Profile" submenu

  • Name of the current job profile

Access the menus from the default menu by pressing Back Arrow button (7). Use the Left/Up button (8) or Right/Down button (9) in order to navigate between menus. Accept a selection by pressing the "OK" button (10) .

The following details of navigating the display of the Messenger follow:

  • The Up arrow and the Down arrow are located on the left side of the LCD screen. The "Up" arrow (11) and Down arrow (13) indicate that there is more information on another page. The direction of possible scrolling is indicated by the Up arrow (11) and "Down" arrow (13). Press Left/Up button (8) in order to move up through the menu. Press Right/Down button (9) in order to move down through the menu.

  • The next screen is a submenu of the previous screen. Press the "OK (Enter/Select)" button (10) in order to go to the next screen.

  • It is possible to go back to the previous screen. Press the Back Arrow button (7) in order to go back to the previous screen.

Buttons of the Messenger

Following is the operation of the Messenger:

Select a menu - Press the OK (Enter/Select) button (10) .

Continue to the next screen - Press the "OK (Enter/Select)" button (10) .

Go back to the previous screen - Press the Back Arrow button (7) .

View information that is on additional screens - Press Left/Up button (8) or Right/Down button (9). Follow the arrows (11) and (13) that are on the LCD screen.

Details of the Messenger Screen

(11) The Up arrow tells the operator to use the Left/Up button in order to move up in the menu.

(12) The menu display area indicates the current location in the menu.

(13) The Down arrow tells the operator to use the Down/Right button in order to move down in the menu of the Messenger.

(14) The submenu display area indicates the current submenu.
