(3) Assemble the seal so that the outer metal shell is recessed 1 ± 0.5 mm (0.04 ± 0.02 inch) from the face of the lever housing. Lubricate the lip of the seal with the lubricant that is being sealed.
(4) Studs should be adjusted to approximately equal lengths. In the final assembly, tighten the coupling to 40 ± 2 N·m (30 ± 1.5 lb ft).
