Note: For instruction on reusability, refer to Guideline For Reusable Parts, SEBF8022, "Sealed And Lubricated Track".

Maximum track press assembly force ... 550 kN (123645 lb)

(1) Torque for bolts that hold the half links together ... 400 ± 70 N·m (300 ± 50 lb ft)

Then, turn the bolts by another 120 degrees.

Put 2P-2506 Thread Compound on the threads, on the body of the bolt, and on the washer face of each bolt before installation.

(2) Torque for bolts that hold the track shoe to the link ... 400 ± 70 N·m (300 ± 50 lb ft)

Then, turn the bolts by another 120 degrees.

Put SAE 30W oil on the threads, on the body of the bolt, and on the washer face of each bolt before installation.

Note: Install the nuts so that the radii on the corner of the nut is against the link.

(3) Height of a grouser ... 57.1 mm (2.25 inch)

Height of 100 percent worn grouser ... 18.0 mm (0.70 inch)

(4) Height of a new link ... 110.0 mm (4.33 inch)

Height of 100 percent worn link ... 101.0 mm (3.98 inch)

(5) Distance from the center of one pin to the center of the next pin (pitch) ... 190.00 ± 0.13 mm (7.480 ± 0.005 inch)

(6) Maximum extension of pin beyond both sides of the link ... 1.1 ± 0.8 mm (0.04 ± 0.03 inch)

(7) Bushings

Diameter of a new bushing ... 61.2 mm (2.41 inch)
The minimum diameter of the bushing before the bushing is turned:
Operations under little shock load or no shock load ... 52.1 mm (2.05 inch)
Operations under average or heavy shock load ... 54.6 mm (2.15 inch)

(7) Stepped bushings

Diameter of a new bushing ... 64.3 mm (2.53 inch)
The minimum diameter of the bushing before the bushing is turned:
Operations under little shock load or no shock load ... 54.1 mm (2.13 inch)
Operations under average or heavy shock load ... 56.6 mm (2.23 inch)

(8) Thickness of a new thrust ring ... 10.70 ± 0.08 mm (0.421 ± 0.003 inch)

(9) Distance from the face of the link to the end of the bushing ... 1.80 ± 0.13 mm (0.071 ± 0.005 inch)

(10) Maximum permissible end clearance (end play) ... 0.20 mm (0.008 inch)

Track Adjustment

------ WARNING! ------

To prevent personal injury, never visually inspect the vent holes or the valves to see if grease or oil is coming out of them. Make sure the vent holes are clean before the tension is released on the track. Watch the front roller frame to see that it moves.

(B) Dimension ... 55.0 ± 10.0 mm (2.16 ± 0.39 inch)

For correct track adjustment, adjust the sag in the track between the sprocket and the front idler to dimension (B) .

Note: Adjust the track under the operating conditions that exist on the job site. Packing must NOT be removed from the track if packing conditions exist on the job site.

  1. Move the machine forward for at least two lengths of the machine. Allow the machine to come to a stop without using the brakes. Move forward slightly with the blade in the FLOAT position in order to ensure that no excess slack remains in the track between the rear idler and the sprocket.

  1. Put a tight length of cord over the grousers. Put the cord from the top of the sprocket to the top of the front idler.

  1. Measure distance (B) in two places. Measure distance (B) between the front idler and the track carrier roller. Measure distance (B) between the carrier roller and the sprocket. Average the two measurements.

  1. Add multipurpose grease MPG through the filler valve. Add grease until the idler moves toward the front of the machine, and the track is tight.

  1. Measure dimension (A) .

  1. Open the relief valve by one turn in order to allow the idler to move back 13 mm (0.5 inch). Move the machine forward and backward. Moving the machine will help the idler move back.

  1. Close the relief valve.

(A) Dimension with a new undercarriage (approximate measurement) ... 40.0 mm (1.57 inch)

(A) Dimension at the maximum adjustment (approximate measurement) ... 105 mm (4.1 inch)

Note: Turn the track pins and bushings or install new track link assemblies when track adjustment reaches the maximum.

Note: When the track adjustment is at the maximum, accidentally over pressurizing the track adjustment cylinder is prevented by a machined flat on the cylinder piston. The flat vents the grease pressure.
