The pump is a two-section gear type pump.

Rotation is counterclockwise when the pump is viewed from the drive end. Use SAE 10W at a temperature of 49 °C (120 °F) in order to bench test the pump.

Rotate the pump by hand. The pump must rotate freely.

Use the following procedure to install the sleeve bearings for the oil pump cover.

  1. Install sleeve bearings (2) in the oil pump cover 1.5 ± 0.25 mm (0.06 ± 0.01 inch) below the surface of the oil pump cover.

  1. The distance between bearing joint position (E) and the centerline of the shaft equals 30 ± 15 degrees, as shown.

Use the following procedure to install the sleeve bearings for the oil pump body.

  1. Install sleeve bearings (3) in the oil pump body 1.50 ± 0.25 mm (0.060 ± 0.010 inch) below the surface of the oil pump body.

  1. The distance between bearing joint position (F) and the centerline of the shaft equals 30 ± 15 degrees, as shown.

Use the following procedure to install the sleeve bearings for the oil pump manifold.

  1. Install sleeve bearings (4) in the oil pump manifold 1.6 ± 0.5 mm (0.06 ± 0.02 inch) below the surface of the oil pump manifold.

  1. The distance between bearing joint position (G) and the centerline of the shaft equals 30 ± 15 degrees, as shown.
