In order to attain dimension X, insert only one shim, as required.

(2) 6E-1704 Shim and 6E-1705 Shim

Thickness of one 6E-1704 Shim ... 0.2 mm (0.008 inch)

Thickness of one 6E-1705 Shim ... 0.3 mm (.012 inch)

(3) Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound to threads of the nut. Tighten the nut and measure the running torque of the shaft. The running torque of the shaft is 1.7 ± 0.2 N·m (15 ± 2 lb in). This specified torque will provide the correct bearing preload for new bearings. The bearings must be coated with lubricant that was applied by the manufacturer.

(4) Apply 9S-3263 Sealant to the threads of seven bolts and assemble. Torque for the bolts ... 21 ± 6 N·m (15 ± 4 lb ft)

(5) 9T-3368 Belleville Spring

Inside diameter ... 10.20 mm (.402 inch)

Outside diameter ... 24.80 mm (.976 inch)

Thickness ... 1.00 mm (.039 inch)

(Z) Dimension for the compressed height of the Belleville springs ... 4.70 + 0.02 - 0.00 mm (.185 + .001 - .000 inch)

(6) Install the following spacers in order to attain dimension Y, as required. The Belleville springs must be compressed.

Thickness of 6E-1702 Spacer ... 10.15 mm (.400 inch)

Thickness of 6E-1703 Spacer ... 10.25 mm (.403 inch)
