Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
A field service report has indicated that an operator had difficulty pushing out an operator station alternate exit window when required. Designated alternate exit windows are shown in Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Alternate Exit" and will have an external locking strip tab installed. Other windows on the operator station may have external locking strip tabs installed but are not designated alternate exits.
Solution
Inspect the operator station window frame, 225-7000 Seal Strip , the locking bead, and locking strip tab for all windows that have a locking bead and locking strip tab installed. If any component shows signs of damage, rust, cracking, or hardening of 225-7000 Seal Strip or has missing components, then remove all the windows from the operator station that have a locking bead and locking strip tab installed.
Ensure that the 225-7000 Seal Strip is not damaged, cracked, or hardened. Replace a damaged, cracked, or hardened 225-7000 Seal Strip . Repair and repaint any rusted window frames. Replace any rusted or damaged locking strip tabs. Reinstall the windows. Apply 5N-5561 Silicone lubricant between the cab window frame and the 225-7000 Seal Strip. Apply 5N-5561 Silicone Lubricant between the window glass and the 225-7000 Seal Strip .
