Fast Fill Hose Inspection On Certain D8TTrack-Type Tractors Equipped With a Fast Fuel Attachment{1273, 1710} Caterpillar

Problem

This TIB should be applied when a low fuel pressure has been identified. Apply this procedure after regular troubleshooting has been completed if no resolution has been identified.

Certain D8TTrack-Type Tractors equipped with a fast fill fuel attachment may have low fuel pressure. The 193-5768 Hose As connecting the vent assembly to the fast fill fuel fill port has a label installed that may come loose. The adhesive on the label may fail letting the label fall inside the fuel tank. The label will cause a fuel restriction indicated by low fuel pressure codes.

Remove fast fill fuel vent (C). Inspect 193-5768 Hose As (A) to see if the identification label is still attached to the hose. If the identification label is still attached to hose assembly (A), remove the label and attach a metal tag.

If the identification label is not on the hose, drain the fuel tank and check for the label. Check inside the tank for the label as required. A bore scope may be required to inspect the inside of the tank.
