PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM INSPECTING AND POSSIBLY REWORKING CERTAIN 20R6551 C15 REMAN ENGINES IN DEALER PART STOCK

When submitting claim for Parts Stock Action, Use the appropriate 99Z as the s/n, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the Part number in the Part Causing Failure field, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program. Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your AVSpare product analyst.
|Certain 20R6551 C15 Reman Engines were built using a 1555619 gasket between the block and flywheel housing. This can lead to oil leaks.|
|Inspect all 20R6551 Reman Engines in dealer parts stock for a visible gasket between the engine block and flywheel housing.
If a 20R6551 Reman Engine has a 1555619 gasket visible between the engine block and flywheel (Image 1), refer to M0099946 for removal and installation of flywheel housing. Remove the 1555619 gasket and replace with quantity as needed Loctite 5188 or alternate Loctite 5127 flexible anaerobic flange sealant. Install a new 3190785 Crankshaft Seal.
If a 20R6551 Reman Engine does not have a 1555619 gasket visible between the engine block and flywheel housing mark as inspected per this program and return to dealer part stock.
SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
|Submit one claim for all engines reworked in dealer parts stock. Include the serial numbers of the engines reworked in dealer parts stock. If the visible gasket is present 4 hours will be allowed to remove the gasket and install the sealant for each engine reworked in dealer parts stock. One 3190785 Crankshaft Seal is allowed and quantity as needed is allowed for Loctite for each engine reworked in dealer parts stock.|
