Introduction

The following procedure describes the steps needed to replace the SCR coolant lines. The new lines being installed provide better durability against tube cracking. Illustration 1 outlines the components being replaced.

Removal Procedure

    (1) Tie Straps

    (2) Bracket Assemblies

  1. Remove the four tie straps (1) and discard. Then remove the four bracket assemblies (2), and retain for later use.

    (3) Coolant lines

  1. Remove the two coolant lines (3), and discard.

  1. Remove the L bracket (4) that secures the DEF line.

    (5) Support Bracket

  1. Once the lines are removed, you can now remove the harness support bracket (5). Retain the two mounting bolts from the bracket to be reused.

    (6) 452-0462 Bracket As

  1. Install the new bracket (6) to the side of the ARD housing reusing the bolts and washers previously removed.

    (7) 458-7305 Bracket As

  1. Install the new bracket (7) using the two 8T-4908 Bolts , one 8T-4136 Bolt , two 8T-4224 Washers , and one 8T-4121 Washer .

  1. Secure the SCR injector harness to the bracket (7) using three 290-1993 Cable Straps .

  1. Loosely install the new tube (8) to the ARD head, and to the 418-2060 Hose using the 124-6256 Clamps . Cut the hose to 25 cm (9.8 inch).

  1. Loosely install the long tube (9) to the coolant distribution block, and to the 418-2060 Hose using the 124-6256 Clamps . Cut the hose to 25 cm (9.8 inch).

  1. Install the two piece clamp (10) using the two 305-4118 Clamps , 344-1207 Bolt , and one 9X-8256 Washer . The bolt goes through the clamps and into the threaded stud.

  1. Install the four piece clamp (11) ash shown above using four 305-4118 Clamps , two 9X-8256 Washers , one 344-1198 Bolt , and one 344-5673 Nut . Two of the clamps should be on either side of the combustion air tube bracket with the bolt passing through to secure the lines.

    (12) Four Piece Clamp

  1. Install the four piece clamp (12) as shown above using four 305-4118 Clamps , one 8T-4224 Washer , one 9X-8256 Washer , one 344-1198 Bolt , and one 344-5673 Nut . The bolt passes through the rear combustion airline bracket with the larger 8T-4224 Washer under the head of the bolt. All four clamps should be on the opposite side of the bracket securing all four lines.

  1. Reinstall the DEF line. Secure the P clip to the new bracket as shown above using the previously removed bolt and washer.
