Introduction

This Special Instruction provides the procedure for updating the access ladder on D11T machines. This update will remedy the problem of stalling for the access ladder.

Refer to the necessary parts list.

Do not perform any procedure that is outlined in this publication until you have read the information and you understand the information. Do not order any parts until you have read the information and you understand the information.

NOTICE

Do not allow any dirt or foreign material to get into the power train system during assembly, connection of lines, when components are filled with fluid, or during any maintenance operation.


Note: Do not coat any fasteners with oil or grease prior to tightening. Instructions are given when lubrication is required.


NOTICE

Maintain the oil in the power train system at the correct level to prevent pump cavitation.



NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "AVSpare Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on AVSpare products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Rework Procedure

Update the Ladder Valve

  1. Remove check valve (B) and check valve (C) from ladder valve (A) .

    1. Replace check valve (B) and check valve (C) with two new check valves (3) .

Rerouting the Return Lines For the Motor

  1. Use HIS and the parts below in order to make a 339-0086 Hose Assembly .

    • (6) 213-8710 Hydraulic Hose

    • (1) 124-2134 Permanent Coupling

    • (2) 124-2325 Permanent Coupling

  1. Remove hose assembly (D). Hose assembly (D) is the return line from the ladder control valve to the manifold on the front of the case.

    1. Remove the existing tee assembly (E). Replace tee assembly (E) with plug (F) .

    (7) 5K-9090 O-Ring Seal

    (8) 6V-9746 O-Ring Seal

    (9) 7M-8485 O-Ring Seal

    (10) 8T-6356 O-Ring Port Tee

  1. Assemble a tee assembly with the following parts:

    • (7) 5K-9090 O-Ring Seal

    • (8) 6V-9746 O-Ring Seal

    • (9) 7M-8485 O-Ring Seal

    • (10) 8T-6356 O-Ring Port Tee

  1. Remove existing 244-8923 Hose As (G) at connection (H). This hose is for the power train high speed oil change system. If the tractor is parked on a level surface, there is no need to drain oil from the power train.

  1. Install new tee assembly (10) .

    1. Connect new hose assembly (6) to tee assembly (10) .

    1. Connect hose (G) to tee assembly (10) .

    1. Route hose assembly (6) from tee assembly (10) to ladder valve (A). Connect hose assembly (6) to ladder valve (A) .

    1. Use existing 203-2789 Bracket Assembly (J) and 1S-0996 Clip (K) in order to route new hose (6) near the implement pump.

    1. Secure hose assembly (6) with mount (4) and two tie straps (5). Refer to Illustration 11.

    1. Check the final routing for hose assembly (6) and hose (G) .
