(1)Check diesel engine crankcase oil level
- 1. Machine LEVEL - brake ON
- 2. Engine RUNNING at LOW IDLE - oil hot
- 3. CHECK oil level
Oil Level between ADD and FULL
ADD oil as required
(2)Check transmission oil level
- 1. Machine LEVEL brake ON
- 2. Engine RUNNING at LOW IDLE
- 3. Transmission in NEUTRAL
- 4. CHECK oil level
Oil level at FULL
ADD oil as required
Brake lock must be APPLIED and transmission in NEUTRAL when machine is standing with engine running.
(3)Check bevel gear oil level
- 1. CHECK oil level
- 2. Oil level between ADD and FULL
ADD oil as required
NOTE: Check bevel gear and steering clutch oil level on pedal steer machines
(4)Check hydraulic control system oil level
- 1. Equipment LOWERED
- 2. Engine RUNNING at LOW IDLE
- 3. REMOVE cap slowly to relieve pressure
- 4. CHECK oil level
- 5. Oil level between ADD and FULL
ADD oil as required
(5)Check engine coolant level
- 1. REMOVE cap SLOWLY to relieve pressure
- 2. Keep level to bottom of fill pipe
(6)Lubricate bucket control linkage pivot points, hydraulic cylinder head and rod pivots
(7)Lubricate ripper linkage and hydraulic cylinder pivots
(8)Lubricate track roller frame outer bearings
(9)Lubricate multi-purpose bucket bowl and cylinder bearings
(10)Lubricate steering clutch release bearings
(11)Check battery charge rate
Engine RUNNING at LOW IDLE
If ammeter SHOWS ...
CHECK electrical system
(12)Check precleaner
- 1. INSPECT
- 2. When dirt level reaches line ...
- 3. REMOVE precleaner
- 4. EMPTY body
- 5. Periodically REMOVE and WASH entire precleaner in water
(13)Fill bucket positioner tube oil cup (if equipped)
(14)Check air cleaner service indicator
If RED indicator band is VISIBLE - service air cleaner

Servicing Primary Element
- 1. REMOVE cover
- 2. REMOVE primary element
- 3. CLEAN inside body
- 4. CLEAN cover
- 5. INSPECT element. See GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
- 6. INSTALL clean element
INSTALL cover
- 7. RESET indicator
NOTE: Never use element with damaged pleats, gaskets or seals. Do not tap or bump element to clean.
If red indicator band shows shortly after cleaning - and primary element has been cleaned 6 or 8 times - replace element
If new primary element was used and red indicator band shows - clean secondary element
Install new elements at least once a year.
Servicing Secondary Element
- 1. REMOVE cover and primary element
- 2. SEPARATE secondary element from cover
- 3. REMOVE element
- 4. COVER air inlet opening
- 5. INSPECT element
- 6. Use NEW gasket
- 7. UNCOVER air inlet opening
- 8. INSTALL secondary element
- 9. INSTALL primary element
- 10. INSTALL cover
- 11. RESET indicator
NOTE: If red indicator band shows shortly after cleaning secondary element - replace element.
(15)Check radiator
- 1. For dirt or trash
- 2. REMOVE guards
- 3. CLEAN core ...
Use pressure air or water
NOTE: REVERSE air or water flow when equipped with suction fan
(16)Check bucket teeth
WORN - CRACKED - BROKEN
(17)Check ripper teeth
WORN - CRACKED - BROKEN
