Secondary Steering Test Switch (1) (If Equipped)
Illustration 2 | g00998022 |
Secondary Steering Test Switch - Push the secondary steering switch in order to determine whether the secondary steering system and the alert indicator are functional. When the secondary steering switch is pushed, the secondary steering motor will run. Alert indicator (1B) will come on and the action alarm will sound. If alert indicator (1B) does not come on or the action alarm does not sound, do not operate the machine. |
Alert indicator (1A) indicates a failure of the primary steering. When alert indicator (1B) flashes, the secondary steering system is active. When the alert indicators come on and the action alarm sounds, steer the machine immediately to a convenient location and stop the machine. Stop the engine and investigate the cause of the failure. Do not operate the machine until the cause of the failure has been corrected.
The AVSpare Monitoring System will perform a self test of the secondary steering during engine start-up. Alert indicator (1B) will come on for three seconds in order to verify the pressurization of the secondary steering system. The action alarm will sound until the end of the self test or until the engine is started.
NOTICE |
---|
Do not use the secondary steering as a limp home mode procedure. Continuing to operate the machine by using the secondary steering may result in damage to the secondary steering system. |
Note: On later machines with pilot hydraulic bucket controls, the operator must perform one lift cycle in order to energize the electromagnetic detents. This feature prevents movement of the implement at start-up if the lift control has been accidentally moved to the detent.
On machines with pilot hydraulic bucket controls, the kickouts and the positioner must be adjusted manually.
Reference: Refer to the “Machine Adjustments” section of the Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct adjustment procedures.
Kickout Neutralizer (IT62G and 962G Parallel Lift Machines) - Push the top of the switch in order to turn off the lever detents. Push the bottom of the switch in order to turn on the lever detents. |
The lever detents must be turned off when certain attachments such as pallet forks and material handling arms are being used. This will prevent the control lever from being moved into the detent position when you are handling delicate loads.
Bucket Positioner - Press the top of switch (3) in order to actuate the bucket positioner. |
Work Tool Positioner - Press the bottom of switch (3) in order to actuate the work tool positioner. |
Hazard Flasher - The hazard flasher is activated by this switch. Push the bottom of the switch in order to activate the hazard flasher. Push the top of the switch in order to deactivate the hazard lights. |
An indicator light on the front dash panel will flash when the hazard flasher is activated.
