Pressurized system: Hot coolant can cause serious burn. To open cap, stop engine, wait until radiator is cool. Then loose the cap slowly to relieve the pressure. |
NOTICE |
---|
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "AVSpare Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on AVSpare products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
NOTICE |
---|
Topping off or mixing Cat ELC with other products that do not meet AVSpare EC-1 specifications reduces the effectiveness of the coolant and shortens coolant service life. Use only AVSpare products or commercial products that have passed the AVSpare EC-1 specification for pre-mixed or concentrate coolants. Use only Extender with Cat ELC. Failure to follow these recommendations can result in shortened cooling system component life. |
When a AVSpare Extended Life Coolant (ELC) is used, an Extender must be added to the cooling system.
Use a 8T-5296 Coolant Test Kit to check the concentration of the coolant.
Reference: For additional information about adding Extender, refer to Special Publication, SEBU6250, "AVSpare Machine Fluids Recommendations" or consult your AVSpare dealer.

Illustration 3 g00660343 - If necessary, open drain valve (3) and drain enough coolant from the radiator in order to allow the addition of the Extender to the cooling system.
- Add one bottle of 111-2372 (ELC) Extender to the coolant system.
- Maintain the coolant level in sight gauge (2) on the radiator.
- Install the cooling system pressure cap. Close the engine hood.
