Note: If the sulfur content in the fuel is greater than 1.5% by weight, use an oil with a TBN of 30. With the high sulfur fuel, change the oil and the filter element after every 100 hours or after every two weeks. Otherwise, change the oil and the filter element after every 250 hours or after every month.

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "AVSpare Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on AVSpare products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Open the engine hood. The oil filler tube and the engine oil dipstick are located on the right side of the machine. The engine oil filter element is located on the left side of the machine.

Illustration 2 g00111647 - The crankcase drain valve is on the left side of the oil pan. Open the crankcase drain valve and drain the oil into a suitable container. Close the crankcase drain valve.
Note: If the machine is equipped with a crankcase guard, pull the drain hose through the guard.

- Clean the filter mounting base with a clean cloth. Make sure that the old filter gasket has been removed.

Illustration 4 g00101318 - Apply a thin film of clean engine oil to the sealing surface of the new filter element.
- Install the new filter element by hand. When the gasket contacts the filter base, tighten the filter for an additional 3/4 turn.

Illustration 5 g00581153 - Remove the oil filler plug (2). Fill the crankcase with new oil. See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities" and Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities". Clean the oil filler plug and install the oil filler plug.
- Start the engine and allow the oil to warm. Check for leaks.
- Stop the engine and allow the oil to drain back into the oil pan. Maintain the oil level in the crosshatched region of the engine oil dipstick (1). Add oil, if necessary.
- Close the engine hood.
