  1. Slowly remove the hydraulic tank filler cap in order to relieve the system pressure.

  1. Remove the filter elements. Properly discard the filter elements.

    Apply a thin coat of oil to the seal on the new filter.

  1. Install the filter element by hand. When the seal contacts the base, tighten the filter element for an additional 3/4 turn.

  1. Remove the retainer ring from the oil filler tube.

  1. Remove the strainer from the oil filler tube.

  1. Wash the screen in a clean nonflammable solvent.

  1. Inspect the seal on the filler cap. Replace the seal if the seal is worn or if the seal is damaged.

  1. Install the strainer, the retainer ring, and the cap.

  1. Maintain the hydraulic oil to the "FULL" mark in the sight gauge.
