If the engine has been off for less than ten minutes, the lift arms can be lowered to the ground by moving the lift lever to the LOWER position.
Move the machine to level ground and to a location that is not in the work area.
If the engine has been off for more than ten minutes and the engine is operable, start the engine and move the lift lever to the LOWER position.
If the engine has been off for more than ten minutes and the engine is not operable, the following procedure is performed by one person.

The bypass valve is located at the center of the machine.
The lift arms will start lowering when the bypass valve is opened.
Keep personnel away from the front of the machine.

Slowly turn the square stem of the bypass valve in a clockwise direction. The square stem should be rotated 90 degrees.
The lift arms will lower to the ground.

Note: On a machine that is equipped with load check valves, press the top of the bucket lower switch in order to allow the bucket to lower when the bypass valve is opened.
Slowly turn the square stem of the bypass valve in a counterclockwise direction. The square stem should be rotated 90 degrees.
