NOTICE |
---|
Inject starting aid (ether), only while cranking the engine, or after initial start-up, until the engine is running smoothly. Use sparingly, excessive ether without cranking can cause piston and ring damage. Wait approximately two seconds before injecting again. Use ether for cold starting purposes only. After every 30 seconds of engine cranking, allow two minutes for starting motor to cool before cranking again. Turbocharger (if equipped) damage can result, if the engine rpm is not kept low until the engine oil light/gauge verifies the oil pressure is sufficient. |
- Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Starting without Starting Aid" and follow Steps1 through 4. Then proceed with the following steps.
- Turn the engine start switch key in order to start the engine.
- Push the ether starting aid button inward and release the starting aid button.

- Press the ether starting aid button at two second intervals. Continue this procedure until the engine starts and until the engine is not running rough.
- Release the engine start switch key when the engine starts.
When the temperature is below -18°C (0°F), the use of optional cold weather starting aids is recommended. A coolant heater, a fuel heater, a jacket water heater, or extra battery capacity may be required.
Before you operate the machine in temperatures below -23°C (-10°F), consult your AVSpare Dealer or see Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU5898, "Cold Weather Recommendations".
