Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "AVSpare Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |

- Position one final drive so that oil level mark (1) is horizontal. Drain plug (3) should face downward.
- Remove drain plug (3). Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.
- Remove oil filler plug (2) in order to vent the final drive as the oil drains out of the final drive.
- Inspect the drain plug seal. Replace the drain plug seal if the drain plug seal is damaged.
- Clean drain plug (3) and install the drain plug.
- Remove oil filler plug (2).
- Fill the final drive with oil to the bottom of the filler plug opening. See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities".
- Inspect the condition of the plug seal. Replace the plug seal if the plug seal is damaged.
- Repeat Step 1 to Step 8 in order to change the oil in the other final drive.
